****NOTE:
DIVSHARE HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS WHICH MEANS MANY HUNDREDS OF SOUND FILES ON THIS BLOG WHICH TOOK 6 YEARS TO COMPILE ARE DEAD, SOME ARE STILL PLAYABLE, BUT UNTIL I FIND A NEW SOUND FILE HOST SERVICE, MANY WON'T PLAY.

Hey Mark
This truly makes me sad. We have lost many musical Icons in a short period. Max the Salazar is of another breed. A very humble man with a never ending invisible suitcase of artist knowledge. He admired Jose Curbelo,Pupi Campos,Machito and on and on. He will be missed. I have to make my comment short.
JR
He was a real documentarian on the "New York City" latin scene and he had a great radio show back in the day... much more hip and interesting than the shows currently on the radio on Sundays here in Manhattan.
I have a couple of old "Latin New York" magazines from 1974-'76 with Max's articles.
He was a "keeper of the flame"... the oral history.....
