Javier Vasquez con Welfo & "Chocolate" Armenteros - N.Y.C.

"Juega Javier.... Con Welfo"
Vinyl LP/LD

Cuban pianist
'Javier Vasquez' with a swinging mid 1960's trumpet & trombone conjunto. Cuban sonero/vocalist
'Welfo Gutieréz' and 'Alfredo "Chocolate" Armenteros' in the trumpet section.
"Chocolate" mid 60's taking killer solos!

Unfortunately no other musicians are given credit, you can imagine who the trombones most likely were.

Great Cuban Son Montunos, Danzon, boleros, Cha Cha Chá, with Javier's N.Y.C. "edge" to it.

When the NY scene had "tremendo cache." Very rare LP. I could be wrong but I don't think was ever put on CD. Thanks for this Gem!

Smokin' record. You're description is right on [Cuban music with NY edge]. I can never get tired of this sound. Also, great job ripping the vinyl.

Muchas gracias
