Cuban Panorama - Capitol LP cover '55-'58 - Cuba

"Cuban Panorama"
Capitol LP cover between '55-'58

An LP put out by Capitol records as a "sampler" of Cuban music recorded in Havana, with seven different artists. A great cover with a couple drinking 'Hatuey' beers at a table in front of the 'Malecón', with the 'Morro Castle' in the background.

The music on this LP was marketed mainly for north Americans, while all the musicians, bands and orchestras are excellent on this, the music Capitol chose to include on this LP I find much too "theatrical" for my personal taste.
For me, only three noteworthy things are on here: track #5. "Olile" that has 'Lucumi' spoken at the beginning, middle and end of the song by a Babalawo. The other two things are track #'s 6. *"Oye Mi Son Montuno" and 11. *"Cabeza Dura" by 'Yoyo Casteleiro' with 'Carlos Diaz' on vocals and 'Andrés "Niño" Rivera Echevarria' playing tres guitar.
*both songs originally come from
'Carlos Diaz's' "Horas Intimas" LP.
5. "Olile"
'Carolina Segrera' y Orq. 'Belen Marshall'

LoL!! .... it's actually a very "1950's" look the Woman has.
The shirt, the hair, the nails, the makeup.
My Mom would love to hear that!
