'Facundo Rivero' - "Piano Caliente" - Cuba

"Piano Caliente"
'Facundo Rivero'
(((Here)))

The hard to find reissue of 'Facundo Rivero's' "Piano Caliente". 'Facundo Rivero', swinging pianist with a great background in classical music, born in La, Habana in 1910. Member of the bands of Raimundo Pía and Belisario López, director of Olga Guillot's orchestra, Conjunto Siboney, and recorded on Celia Cruz's 1950's Santeria inspired record.
This is with his quintet. He does a great version of his own composition "Latcho".
All instrumental.
Superb!

I have this old RCA comp and Rivero's "Negro Mi Chac Cha Cha" is on there and I played that tune over and over when I got that record. Ever since I've wanted to hear more of Facundo. I always wanted this cd but never was able to get it so thanks very much. Obviously more of a jazz album and not a mambo record but I enjoyed it very much. thanks
